LOS ANGELES – Today California Charter Schools Association (CCSA) officially announced their endorsement of Kelly Gonez for school board. CCSA is the latest organization to support Kelly, a campaign that has had a very successful 2017 securing numerous endorsements from other organizations and community leaders.
"Kelly will be a board member to represent all students, including the more than 100,000 students attending charter public schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District,” said Gary Borden, Executive Director CCSA Advocates.” With her deep education experience, Kelly Gonez will work to expand opportunities affording all students access to a high-quality education.”
“I am grateful for CCSA’s support and look forward to working with the many strong charter schools in our district on providing high-quality options for all students and families,” said Kelly. “From speaking with parents throughout the Northeast San Fernando Valley, I know that families want good schools for their children, regardless of school model.”
Kelly resides in Sylmar with her husband, Manuel. She currently teaches 7th grade science at a STEM-focused charter middle sc shool in LAUSD.
