LOS ANGELES – Today former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan announced his endorsement of Kelly Gonez’s campaign to represent Board District 6.
"As the only candidate with true classroom experience, Kelly will bring a fresh perspective to Board District 6. She is the kind of leader Los Angeles needs to ensure our kids get the education they deserve,” Mayor Riordan said.
“Mayor Riordan has given so much to our community and I am honored to receive his endorsement,” said Kelly. “Today, through his foundation, Mayor Riordan works to provide all students with access to high-quality education and I look forward to working with him to make this a reality for our District.”
Kelly Gonez is running to represent Board District 6 on the LAUSD Board of Education to ensure all children have access to an excellent education. Kelly has the experience, as a teacher, policymaker, and lifelong advocate for families, to make the dream of a great public education a reality for all kids. Kelly resides in Sylmar with her husband, Manuel. She teaches 7th grade science at a STEM-focused charter middle sc shool in LAUSD.
